After studying painting and illustrating at Southampton College of Art, Toni decided to move to London to earn a living, which he supported by playing double bass in London jazz bands. He did this for the next ten years whilst illustrating more than two hundred children’s books, a number of which he also wrote.

After marrying his wife Jill, a fellow art student from Southampton, they moved back to Hampshire with their two sons, Tim and Tobin, where Toni started up both an art gallery and a judo club (having studied judo since he was fourteen) whilst still continuing his freelancing in illustration and painting.

After a stint in Boston, MA, running a gallery for marine artist, John Stobart, Goffe also exhibited in galleries along the East Coast of the United States for four years, before returning to England.

Back in England, one of his paintings, Small Cat In Large Dog’s Bed, was voted ‘best painting’ at an exhibition, having several buyers after it. Due to its popularity he made a limited edition print of the painting, which he showed to Washington Green, who asked him to join their portfolio of artists, and he has been working with them ever since.
