Willow Tree® - MotherDaughter

MotherDaughter is one of several new figurines added to the Willow Tree collection for 2014. Hand carved by artist Susan Lordi, as is every original piece in the collection, the figurine celebrates the strength of the bond between a mother and her daughter, and its foundation in love and laughter.
Inspired by Susan’s personal memories of her time with her own daughter, the sculpture features a mother hugging her child as they play and laugh together. And, symbolising that their connection is strong, the pair are portrayed gracefully melding into a rock. Susan adds, ‘When I think back to when my daughter was growing up, what I remember most are the times we laughed together…humour plays a big part in a relationship.’
Willow Tree figurines are expressive art forms that communicate and convey emotions without the need for words, and can reach across boundaries to bring people closer together. Other launches for 2014 include Christmas hanging ornaments and figurines to express gratitude and thanks.
